Probably the most talented bossa nova group of the 1960s, Tamba Trio perfected a breezy, swinging style of vocal-pop that left a deep mark on Brazilian music and beyond. Featuring pianist and arranger Luiz Eça, bassist Bebeto, and drummer Hélcio Milito, the trio combined instrumental virtuosity with lush vocal harmonies. Their debut album, Tamba Trio, includes the hit “O Barquinho” and showcases their inventive jazz-infused approach to bossa nova. This edition also features six bonus tracks, including their celebrated version of Jorge Ben’s “Mas, Que Nada!,” which would later become an international anthem.
