Joe Veras`s VIDA was designed for the dance hall. Led by electric steel string guitar, songs like “Aferrado,” “Si La Ve,” and the title track are musically intensive, and inspire complicated dance moves rather than romantic introspection. The 2008 album incorporates a more contemporary sound as well, adding electric guitar, accordion, and elements of merengue to the mix.
