Brilliant early 1968 work from a young Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe on vocals. The album has an amazing energy that really bridges a number of Latin scenes – it`s part descarga jamming, part Latin soul, and part traditional Latin – put together with a no-nonsense approach that makes the whole thing come off like magic. A young Hector LaVoe is on lead vocals, but the real star here is the group – who have a lean, mean, stripped-down sound that`s really great.
