Since its inception in 1996, Dark Latin Groove (DLG) has defined the reality of a generation and laid the groundwork for modern tropical music of the new century. Defying musical boundaries with its original blend of salsa, reggae, hip-hop and R&B, DLG rose to the top of Latin music with hits such as No Morira, La Quiero A Morir, and Volvere. With Latin Grammy winning producer and songwriter, Sergio George, helming the production, DLG garnered critical acclaim for its avant garde sound.
Now, after a 9-year haitus, DLG is set to return to musical prominence with RENACER. Still drawing on the strength of original members, James DaBarba and Fragancia, the group is proud to introduce its newest member, Miss YaYa, a vocalist whose sultry voice is sure to win over the hearts and minds of old and new DLG fans alike. She is of Dominican descent and the niece of well known Dominican merengue singer Sergio Vargas. The new members of DLG are Yaya Vargas and Ness (formely of Los Adolesentes) along with former members, James De Barba and Fragancia have turned the former threesome into a powefull quarter of musical talent.
