Op deze manier vieren we graag een paar keer per jaar kerstmis, als een band van het kaliber Sonora Poncena dit soort albums uitbrengt. Acht nummers gezongen door Pichie Perez en Danny Davila, alle ge-arrangeerd door Papo Lucca. Inclusief mini DVD met 1 video clip, waar de band buiten staat met een groot geroosterd varken, een typisch tafereel op Puerto Rico tijdens de feestdagen. 2008 release Otra Navidad Criolla

Plus any music that mentions eating lechon, pastel and morcilla is fine by me; that said, the musical level here`s so high (check out the bass and percussion that opens the plena "La Vengo Siguiendo"), the intent to make people enjoy life during the fiesta so strong that this qualifies as a special Sonora Poncena album, which is saying something good. There are plenas, and salsa, and it all rocks, great good time music. Included is a 5 or so minute DVD that`s a reprise of the tune "Opera Gandinga," featuring a damn roast pig !!
