La Resistencia - Bailatino
BAILATINO, een van de beste salsa bands uit Venezuela, spelen in de stijl van Conjunto Libre, dat is pas een aanbeveling! La Resistencia uit 2008 met salsa, son montuno, cha-cha-cha en descarga.
The Venezuelan band comes with some deep cool and reserve, taking its time to get to lift off, the sort of approach that only a road band can understand and pull off. Classic salsa, elegant, a two trombone attack, a flute and super swinging, with a real sonero or two. Can`t fault the coro; it`s big and real sounding. This is authentic, and adult, by which I mean it fullfils the rules of the style, testing itself against the best, and, casually, it stands up to the best, a homegrown orchestra with eyes and ears on the highest moments the style has produced. It`s also an orchestra, not a backing band for a soloist. Like the liner notes also, which shouts out to the African and indigenous resistance in the Americas that made us what we are.
