"La pulidora", Septeto Santiaguero`s second album, seeks to take the sound of the old septets one step further without turning its back and opens the son to more ambitious horizons. It also attemps the seemingly impossible - to capture on a sterile CD with its cold, precise reproduction, the pulse of vitality and warmth that Septeto Santiaguero establishes on stage from the very first note. To do this they use a potent rhytm section: bass, bongos, congas, cencerros, claves, maracas and, for the occasion, even one of the best of the African drum sets to which they add the strings of the guitar and the tres ( Cuban three-stringed guitar), the brilliant punch of a trumpet overflowing with ideas as well as overwhelming background vocals and two exceptional lead singers without whom La pulidora would lose all meaning. An album to dance to from beginning to end. Spicy sones abound as well as an affectionate homage to Marcelino Guerra - the dapper guarachero and one of the great figures of the Cuban son from the past. Thanks to technology the group debuts with Marcelino Guerra`s  "Me voy a las dos," a guaracha that was not included in his album Rapindey
