Nieuw hoodstuk in de discografie van Oscar D`Leon is deze big-band produktie (z`n 77e!) met 20 nummers, verdeeld over 2 CD`s, één in het Engels én een Spaanstalig album met covers van grootheden als Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Barry Manilow. Tony Bennett, Dean Martin... Album werd opgenomen in Nashville (muziek) en Miami (vocalen). Ondanks zijn verminderde gezichtsvermogen aan linkeroog, welke werd veroorzaakt door ongeval thuis, gaat de 71-jarige zanger gewoon door met geven van concerten en maken van albums.
With his unique, matchless seal, Oscar D’ León presents his latest album. This time, he surprises his audience with Big Band Classics, consisting of 10 songs performed by 36 musicians gathered in the recording studio to pay tribute to this genre. Characterized by its quality and sounds that take us back to the twentieth century, an era characterized by greats artists such as: Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, amongst others.
The production will includes ten songs in English and the singer will repeat all ten in Spanish, something that will mark a great stage in his famous artistic career. We have the special 2-cd set that includes both the English and Spanish versions!
The Venezuelan salsa singer has included American classics like “New York, New York”, “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “Copacabana”. De León confirmed his excitement for this new recording. “It is nothing like our current band: it`s a a Big Band orchestra with a chorus of women, it was made in Nashville, with voices recorded in Miami”, said the brilliant Lion of Salsa. The highly anticipated album, which will become “León’s” first Bilingual material, sports the title Big Band Classics / Classicos de Big Band.
