This release presents Ray Barretto’s complete original LP Barretto Para Bailar (Riverside 93531), which marks his debut album as a leader. As a bonus, the complete Tito Puente LP Dance Mania (RCA LSP 1692), featuring Barretto. The latter album was rated by The New York Times as “one of the top 25 albums of 20th-century popular music”. The only two existing alternate takes from Dance Mania, as well as a further song featuring Barretto with Tito Puente round out this edition.
