Mariana Yegros aka. La Yegros, de Argentijnse "queen of nu cumbia", die tegenwoordig haar tijd verdeelt tussen Argentinië en Frankrijk, is terug met een tweede langspeler waarvoor ze opnieuw samenwerkte met producer King Coya. La Yegros mag dan bekend staan als de koningin van de Argentijnse cumbia, ze kleurt net zo graag buiten de lijnen van dat genre, op Magnetismo geïllustreerd door nummers als Chica Roja met Gustavo Santaolalla (bij ons vooral bekend als de man die voor de soundtrack van Brokeback Mountain zorgde, maar tevens oprichter van het nuevo-tango ensemble Bajofondo) op accordeon, en de chamame van afsluiter Lejos of Dejate. De Franstalige vocals van Sabina Sciubba (Brazilian Girls) geven Arde een Les Ritas Mitsouko-achtig tintje en met de haast filmische ballade Hoy zorgt La Yegros dan weer voor het ideale tegenwicht voor de meer clubgerichte producties in de tracklist (titelnummer Magnetismo, Fragil). Wie mee was met Viene De Mi zal ook in Magnetismo zijn gading vinden. (review Tropicalidad)

`Magnetsmo` incorporates Argentnean folk traditons with cutng edge beats and punk attude that dominate the male orientated contemporary electro cumbia in Argentna. The album integrates her collaboratons and infuences that were compiled from the impressive 15 internatonal tours over the past two and a half years. The album was writen on the road and the material came to life on the road.

The album includes the same power producton team that were behind her breakout debut album - King Coya and Daniel Martn but with the additon of Oscar-winning engineer Anibal Kerpel who mixed the album from his studio in Los Angeles. The album features old friends such as Argentna`s folk hero Gustavo Santaolalla and the hauntng violin behind electro-tango sensaton Bajafono Javier Casalla.

`Magnetsmo` infuses her old sound with new collaboratons that include Puerto Candaleria from Columbia, French based singer Sabina Sciubba from electro pop group Brazilian Girls and the African roots of Lindingo from Reunion Island.
